To help you be certain of always having the right geo-fabric for the job, not only have we created the handy Geo Fabric Product Selector, available on our website, but here’s a quick three-step guide to always selecting the right fabric for your project.
How to select the right Geotextile Fabric
Our three-step guide to selecting the right Geotextile Fabric for your project means asking yourself the following questions:
- What is the primary application I want to use a geo fabric for?
This means being clear about the what you need the application for. Are you looking for a product that will control or suppress weeds? Or do you need something that with stabilise the ground you are working on or separate different sub-base layers? Perhaps it is a drainage or filtration issue you need to resolve. - Where will the fabric be laid?
Its location and what you are planning to put on top of it are the most important considerations when deciding which geotextile fabric is best. Products in our extensive range have similar functions but they differ in their suitability for different locations and the demands that different coverings place on them. Our Weedtex, Landtex and Groundtex products which are all very effective for weed control but we recommend Weedtex for garden borders and under decking, Landtex for under planted areas/beds and under mulch or bark and Groundtex for the tougher applications, such as under stones, scree and areas subject to pedestrian or vehicular traffic. - Do I need the fabric to do anything else?
As many of our products are multi-purpose, it’s worth considering if you can use the same product to resolve several issues. Groundtex is a multi-purpose woven geotextile fabric that will tackle weed suppression and ground stabilisation in both soft and hard landscaping schemes. While Draintex is primarily for drainage and filtration applications, it also offers stabilisation and separation capabilities, as does Drivetex.
Our versatile range of the Geotextile Fabrics mean we have the right solution for all the common and unusual applications. Simply use our handy Geo Fabric Product Selector to select the right one for your job or contact us on 0800 197 8885 or sales@growtivation.com and we’ll be happy to advise you.
